We’re thrilled to announce that the incredible Eric Lindell will be hosting Access Northwest’s inaugural fundraiser on Sunday, August 18th, at 5:00 PM in Old Town Portland. This is a unique opportunity to experience Eric’s soulful music while supporting a cause that’s close to our hearts.
Discovering Eric: A Musical Connection
A few years ago, while attending the New Orleans Jazz Festival, Keith and Hallie first heard Eric play and were immediately captivated by his music. Eric’s sound is a beautiful blend of 1970s blues-rock, soul, and R&B—a combination that resonates deeply with anyone lucky enough to hear it. Originally from Northern California, Eric’s musical journey has taken him from New York to New Orleans, and he now calls Florida home. We’re honored to have caught Eric while he’s touring in the Pacific Northwest and are excited to host him for this special event.
Supporting Access Northwest: Empowering Children Through Outdoor Experiences
But this event is more than just an evening of amazing music—it’s a chance to support Access Northwest, our nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children with special needs in the Pacific Northwest through inclusive outdoor experiences. We believe that every child, regardless of their abilities, should have the opportunity to explore and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. Our mission is to break down barriers, foster joy and resilience, and create meaningful connections with the environment.
Our programs are designed with all abilities in mind, creating a supportive community where every child can thrive. We want kids with diverse needs to experience the joy of accessing the wonders of the Northwest, from its majestic coastlines to its lush forests.
Fundraising Goals: Get Kids Outside
The goal of this first fundraiser is to raise enough donations to fund a series of enriching experiences, including a whale watching trip for 20 kids and their families, the installation of a Mobi Mat on Manzanita Beach to ensure accessibility for all, and a few exciting trips to local animal farms before the rain returns in the fall.
Hallie and I were thrilled to catch Eric while he's touring the Pacific Northwest this summer. Having him play at our inaugural Access Northwest fundraiser is a dream come true, and we're excited to share his incredible music while making a difference for kids with special needs
